Chill Out LA is a free weekly email newsletter and spa, beauty and fitness directory. The businesses and destinations featured
editorially in Chill Out LA do not pay us one penny to be
included; we select these destinations based solely on our
editorial judgment and our own experience with their products
and services. We also offer sponsored "Featured Destination" placements to businesses
who want to pay for more prominent placement on the website. We also use this section to highlight businesses we've recently reviewed editorially. Many of the businesses we review extend
exclusive offers to Chill Out LA's subscribers as an added
incentive to try their service; this content is
unpaid and editorial in nature. Please be aware that the special
offers and discounts mentioned on our website
may have expired since the original date of publication, and
service prices may have changed.
Advertising in the Chill Out LA newsletter is displayed in the "Bonus
Offer" section. These newsletter Bonus Offers are paid
placements for businesses that have special offers to extend
to our readers, but have not been reviewed firsthand by our editorial staff.
We've done everything we can to make Chill Out LA both fun
and useful to our readers - we hope you take the information
we give you and use it to become a happier, healthier, more
centered Angeleno!
Meet the Editors
Chill Out LA's editorial staff and contributors make it their
mission to visit day spas, massage therapists, resorts and
Pilates studios to ensure that they're up to snuff for our
loyal readers. It's not an easy job, but somebody has to do
it.
Founder and Editor Erin Mahoney Harris started
publishing Chill Out LA in April of 2004, and has logged
countless massages, facials and yoga classes since that
time. Erin has appeared as a spa and fitness expert on the ABC7 Eyewitness News and KCET's Life & Times, as well as in the Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles magazine and Natural Health magazine. Erin is also the author of Walking
LA, so you might find
her exploring the streets with her husband
Tony, their son West and their dog Tuffy.
Contributing Editor Sharon Lord bears the brutal burden
of handling most of Chill Out LA's West Side assignments.
She is a TV Producer, mostly of game and reality shows,
whose brainchild, HARDly NEWS, can be played online at
www.bud.tv. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Business Administration at USC's Marshall School of Business, giving her plenty of reason to continue needing all those massages. She lives in Santa Monica with her husband David.
Contributing Editor Heather Wood Rudúlph is the founder and editor of SirensMag.com, an online alternative magazine for women that is a tad obsessed with health and beauty itself. When she's not busy writing, editing and producing Sirens, Heather lets off steam by hiking, running, spinning or practicing yoga and Pilates. Always looking for a new fitness challenge, Heather constantly scours Los Angeles for unique, new exercise classes. After all that working out, she's downright pooped and can't wait to check out a new spa for a facial or massage. She lives in the Hollywood Hills with her husband Ken.
Contributing Editor Rachel Dworkin is practicing to be a stay-at-home mom. She hopes the practice pays off when her new one arrives late this summer. She spends her days doing yoga and Sudoku, while also volunteering as a child advocate through the Children's Court of Los Angeles. She certainly hopes that other stay-at-home moms get to treat themselves to plenty of massages and facials (Rachel, for one, has become really good at it). She lives in Hollywood with her husband Dan and two very jealous cats.
