A Sensible Way to Detox
Many of you have no doubt heard of the Master Cleanse, that draconian detox diet wherein you consume nothing but a mixture of lemon juice, water and maple syrup for ten days straight. While this might work for some people, I find it to be brutal (I didn't even last a day). Rachel Avalon takes a different approach to detoxification with her Avalon Cleanse, which allows the client to eat actual food, albeit food of a different sort than he/she may be used to. Namely, the healthy sort.
Rachel begins by meeting with the client in person for about an hour to talk about their goals and to assess their past and present lifestyle and eating habits. The Avalon Cleanse consists of three phases; each one can be 5 to 10 days in length depending on the client's needs. The first phase is vegetarian, the second vegan, and the third is also vegan, but consists of living (AKA raw) and blended foods (because they're easier to digest). The result? Optimal health and weight, glowing skin, improved muscle tone and increased energy. I'll take it.
During my consultation, I was impressed by Rachel's approach, which is confident and supremely well informed, and at the same time remarkably open-minded and non-judgmental. She has a clear dedication to both personal and environmental health, and has a great deal of wisdom to impart about living a holistic lifestyle. She's also warm and engaging, which makes meeting with her a pleasure. She provided me with all of the information and inspiration needed to embark on a successful cleansing program. After the initial session, Rachel also conducts two follow-ups by phone with the client, each about one hour long.
If you're feeling sluggish, out of shape or simply uninspired physically, we highly recommend giving Rachel a call. You have nothing to lose but unnecessary pounds and toxins.
