My name is Erin Mahoney Harris and I started publishing Chill Out LA in the spring of 2004. I've since logged countless massages, facials, pedicures and other pampering treatments at spas all over Los Angeles.
Over the years, I've learned a lot about spa treatments, skin care products and healthy living in general. I've also come to realize that many Los Angeles women, myself included, often feel an immense amount of pressure to look a certain way: youthful and skinny. My experience in the beauty and wellness world has taught me that the obsessive pursuit of these goals is bad for both the body and soul. And so my goal with Chill Out LA is to guide women toward spa treatments, skin care products, and exercise and eating habits that make you both feel and look good, and to ignore the pressure to be perfect.
Several of my friends happen to be fantastic writers and have contributed their own reviews to Chill Out LA. Thank you to Sharon Lord Greenspan, Heather Wood Rudulph, Jaclyn Mullen and Kelly Vogt Campbell for sharing your spa and beauty experiences. I'm also the author of Walking LA: 38 Walking Tours Exploring Stairways, Streets and Buildings You Never Knew Existed. I've appeared as a spa and Los Angeles expert on the ABC7 Eyewitness News, KCET's Life & Times and the AP Global News Broadcast, and I've been featured as a spa and fitness resource in the Los Angeles Times, in Los Angeles, East West Woman, ITEM, Positive, Natural Health, Kids LA and C magazines, and on Citysearch.com.
If you're interested in featuring me as a spa expert or Los Angeles guide in your publication or on your program, please contact me directly at erin@chilloutla.com.
