Being Pampered and Prettied at Being in LA

Being in LA is a charming sanctuary on Hillhurst Ave. in Los Feliz. The spa atmosphere is decidedly Eastern - clients are asked to remove their shoes upon entering - and the treatment rooms are spacious and comfy.

Proprietor and aesthetician Jenette Serrins treated us to a Sensory Journey Facial, one of Being's signature treatments. We began by choosing our favorite of three Epicuren essential oils to set the mood. Jenette is a purist when it comes to products, and she's devoted to the Epicuren line because of the integrity and effectiveness of its all-natural ingredients. Everything smelled delicious - none of the products were overwhelming or perfume-y (a pet peeve of ours). While she isn't a licensed massage therapist, Jenette has had massage training, and it was evident in the blissful extended massage she incorporated into our treatment.

Of course, our facial wasn't only about pampering and aromatherapy - Jenette's very thorough extractions and exfoliation left our formerly dull and congested skin glowing, so we looked as well as felt amazing by the time she was done.
