Hot Pink Heaven

New York-born Dashing Diva nail salon has a new home in Old Town Pasadena. The stylish spot is a welcome addition to the upscale mani/pedi options in the Los Angeles area, boasting an absolute dedication to superior hygiene and sanitation, and super-friendly service.

We tried out the Spoiled Diva Pedicure, a deluxe treatment that includes microdermabrasion, a moisturizing foot wrap, and a 10-minute foot and lower leg massage. We settled into the cushioned hot pink chair (in keeping with the Diva's girly color scheme) and were offered our choice of hot or cold tea from an extensive menu of choices (black, green, white, herbal, oolong – there is nominal charge for the beverage), as well as a couple of magazines to peruse (after all, what's a pedi without a gossip rag?). Our sweet-natured pedicurist made sure we were comfortable before setting to work on our feet and lower legs. The treatment took about 45 minutes, and left our skin deliciously smooth and our toenails gleaming.

After stepping out onto the sidewalk on our better-than-new tootsies, we were faced with Old Town's dizzying array of restaurants, shops and dessert shops. In keeping with the vibe at Dashing Diva, we went forth to spoil ourselves a bit more before heading home...
