Services at Kate Somerville begin with a kiss. A Hershey's Kiss, to be precise, placed on a little silver platter on top of your robe. Little luxurious touches like this abound at this WeHo sanctuary - they play great music in the service rooms, the robes are soft, the treatment beds are super-cushioned, and the staff couldn't be nicer. We admit we were a little despondent when we came in for our facial and massage - suffering from both a bad breakout AND a super-tense lower back - but we left with clean skin and a body that felt like melted butter.
Kate Somerville worked with doctors and plastic surgeons for years and has developed both a line of rejuvenating treatments that includes Laser Genesis, the Hydropeel, and Lip Plump, as well as a delicious line of skin care products. The signature facial uses only Kate Somerville products, and we were blown away: The products smelled great and worked better. "Kate in a Jar" is a super-exfoliating enzyme that blasted away at our dead skin cells like a daisy-cutter bomb; "Quench" is a yummy, non-greasy serum that our skin drank right up; and we are converts to the "Protect" sunscreen - it absorbs quickly and doesn't have a chemical smell. Our facialist Courtney followed up the extractions with a long neck and shoulder massage, priming us for our session with Craig, an extremely talented massage therapist who used a combination style that left us limp as a happy noodle.
