Beautifying with Our Buddy Carol

Carol Zubrin is one of our all-time favorite aestheticians, as much by virtue of her ebullient personality as her ability to transform problem skin into something lovely to behold. Whether you suffer from acne or dehydration, Carol has a skin care solution to suit you. Therefore, we were naturally delighted to hear that she'd opened up her very own skin care studio in Universal City.

Visiting Carol is always a treat because, while her facials are undeniably results-oriented, she also knows how to do pampering right. Our Ultimate Comfort Facial involved the de rigueur cleansing, steaming, exfoliating, extractions and moisturizing, as well as yummy treats like foot/lower leg, hand/arm, face and décolleté massage. She used lymphatic drainage techniques to help rid the body of retained fluids and toxins. Carol is a fanatic (in the good way) when it comes to product ingredients and is dedicated to using all-natural lines that are free of nasty stuff like parabens and sulfates. She picks and chooses from her favorite brands, including Epicuren and Image, custom blending ingredients to suit each client's individual needs.

After applying a zinc-based chemical-free sunblock as the finishing touch, Carol treated us to a tasty organic chocolate and some chilled fruit-infused water before we went out to face the hot summer day feeling positively renewed and gorgeous.
