We Like It "Ra"

Ra Organic Spa in Burbank certainly lives up to its name. Dedication to eco-friendly, organic materials and ingredients is evident both in the spa's selection of bath and beauty products and in its building materials, and the abundance of wood, bamboo and stone create a warm and peaceful environment. We arrived about 20 minutes before our treatment time and relaxed in one of the comfy chairs in the waiting area, where we were offered green tea, fresh fruit, and an assortment of scrumptious crackers and pastries.

Soon our massage therapist Nataka arrived and led us to the Serenity room (each meticulously decorated treatment room has its own theme). After making sure we were positioned comfortably on the padded table, she began methodically soothing and softening our knotted-up muscles using a blend of massage techniques. Afterward, we had the option of rinsing off in the spa's private glass-enclosed shower, but we chose to leave the sweet-smelling vanilla- and coconut- scented massage lotion to soak into the skin instead.

Ra offers a full array of skin care and body treatments in addition to massage. Their specialties include Thai massage and herbal foot treatments, which take place in the spa's beautifully furnished upstairs loft space. Clients can also experience a specialty bath to complement any other treatment. This provides a nice excuse to make a day of your visit and spend even more time in the spa's lovely surroundings.
