Pampering, Plain and Simple

Relax Spa & Beauty Lounge is located in the heart of Burbank, close to the studios and right across the street from the newest branch of Porto's, a well loved Cuban bakery and sandwich shop. This unpretentious day spa appears to be small and unassuming from the outside, but is actually quite lovely and spacious within. The treatment rooms, in particular, provide a welcoming haven from the outside world, beautifully appointed with glowing candles and lucky bamboo. Our room even had a private shower.

We settled onto the heated massage table for our Swedish massage with therapist Mariela. For the next hour, her tender but highly trained touch provided us with exactly the kind of soothing relief we needed. Even as she set to work on our knottiest muscles, we never stirred from a state of deep peace and relaxation. After getting dressed, we found Mariela waiting in the lobby with a cup of hot peppermint tea and some water. We left feeling loose, refreshed, and ready for a sandwich from Porto's.
