Beautification in Downtown LA

If you work (or as is becoming more common, live) in downtown Los Angeles and you haven't already discovered Salon Belleza, you're in for a happy surprise. This chic yet unpretentious salon and day spa is located in the Wilshire Grand Hotel at the corner of Wilshire and Figueroa, convenient to the 7th & Fig shopping center and Metro stop. The salon/spa is housed downstairs from the hotel lobby.

After being warmly greeted by owner Irene, we passed through the bright and airy salon (decorated with vibrant original artwork by Yolanda Gonzalez) to a quiet candlelit treatment room in the back for our Sensitive Skin Facial with Melody. Salon Belleza uses the results-oriented Epicuren line for all of their facial treatments, and based on our experience with these products, we knew we were in for a truly top-notch treatment. Melody began by gently but thoroughly cleansing the skin with lavender water before doing a gentle exfoliation and extractions. Then came the application of several of Epicuren's signature enzyme concoctions designed to provide deep and lasting nourishment for the skin. Melody also treated us to a yummy hand and foot massage before finishing off the face with some sunscreen and lip balm. Our skin was smooth and glowing when we left the spa, and for several days afterward.

Salon Belleza also offers massage treatments, manicures, pedicures, waxing and, of course, hair services, making it a convenient one-stop shop for all of your beauty and relaxation needs. The only catch is parking, which can be pricey at the hotel. We recommend looking for metered street parking or taking the Metro.
