Get Luce at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel

Modern, sleek and sophisticated, Spa Luce perfectly suits its hip Hollywood locale. Situated at the rooftop of the Renaissance Hotel, this new retreat deals in luxury - from the super-plush robes and towels provided for each guest to the elite Sonya Dakar products used in facials.

Our day of relaxation began with a pre-treatment shower (not necessary, but recommended – especially for the waterfall showerheads and grapefruit-and-honey-infused signature bath products provided). Calm, clean and still a little early for our treatment, we relaxed in one of two meditation rooms - private enclaves outfitted with plush loungers, soft carpeting and pre- and post-treatment snacks and drinks. Guests also have access to a huge steam room and the rooftop pool, perks we intend to utilize next time.

Our lovely therapist Carol led us to a private treatment room bathed in candlelight, where we received a combo treatment called the Japan Ritual. The 80-minute treatment begins with a full-body scrub made of coffee and bamboo, followed by a nurturing rice milk sponge bath and a relaxing Shiatsu massage. We indulged a bit and asked for a hand and foot paraffin warp (an easy add-on for any treatment), which kept our extremities warm during the massage and left our un-manicured nails looking shiny and healthy – just like the rest of us.

So Comfy!, Sunday, 21 September 2008

Written by HHZen

I want to live in the meditation lounge here. After a full-body scrub, a eucalyptus steam bath and a shower, I curled up on a lounge here and made a meal out of trail mix, fresh fruit and tea. Then I dozed off a bit while flipping through Interview magazine. I wasn't disturbed once! The staff really seems to want you to make the most out of the amenities here -- and I did!
